Stringer's Clarets Now Can't Stop Winning At Home!

Rod Stringer is more than happy to bore his way to promotion if that’s what it takes.

The Chelmsford City manager was thrilled by his team’s 1-0 win over Chippenham - and would take more of the same every week.

Stringer said Monday night was anything but dull as they won at home twice inside three days having only had one Melbourne victory in total before the weekend.

“I thought we were excellent, it was a great win and I’m delighted,” he told Clarets TV as the team took fourth place in the National League South.

“We had the crowd on their feet and we couldn’t ask for any more. It was a fantastic three points.

“I think Chippenham are a good side who are always a threat. We scored a good goal, could have had two or three but if we win 1-0 every week I will be a happy man!

“It’s been tough for us this year, we’ve tried everything. But after a bad Tuesday night last week against Concord we have repaid our fans with two good home performances.

“Now we’ve got to try and cement our place in the play-offs for as long as we can. When we get a few players back we’ll be really strong but for now we need to stick at it.”
