Stringer Delighted As Chelmsford Move Closer To Summit

Chelmsford City boss Rod Stringer says their victory against Gloucester City was important due to the performance they delivered as well.

Chelmsford moved to within two points of top after a 2-0 victory away from home, match highlights here, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It's a tough place to come, I thought they would work hard and the character of the players there meant they'd give it a real go and they did, we've dug deep to win," Stringer said to the club's website.

"It could be a big three points at the end of the season, we could have easily dropped points, the squad is getting stronger as well."

"We put in some good performances, we defended a bit better, we showed some pace out wide."

With players coming back, Stringer is delighted to see the injury list decreasing as each week passes.

"There is more competition, the players are coming back and that means I'm pleased for more than just the result as well."
