Lee began his career as a professional at Cheltenham Town and he made a handful of first-team appearances for the Robins at the start of his career in League One, and after loan spells at Cirencester Town and Thurrock, embarked on a highly-successful spell in the Southern League, firstly with Bishops Cleeve and then at Shortwood United.
Lee has been subject to an approach by new league rivals Gloucester City, who offered him terms. He considered the offer but has decided to stay with the Seagulls.
Manager Marc McGregor told the club`s official website: “We are delighted that Jake is staying with us. He had a great season last term and has had to play in differing roles during pre-season. Jake is an integral part of our squad and his staying is a real boost for the start of our league campaign.”
Lee commented: “Although I was flattered to have received the offer from Gloucester City I enjoy the way that the gaffer is doing things here. I enjoyed pre-season and I can’t wait to get started in the league on Saturday. There is a great camaraderie among the players, and most of all I enjoy playing for the club”.
