But despite not being at their best, the Spitfires bagged a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Chris Zebroski and Mark Yeates.
Strevens' men have bulldozed almost everyone before them so far this calendar year and look a solid bet for a play-off place with nine games left.
"It was a tough game," he told the club's video service. "Especially first-half, we probably had 70/80% possession – they sat in and it was hard to break down.
"The goal on half-time was key and that settled us down a little bit.
"The second-half was tough but all that matters is three points and we’re happy we’ve got another three points on the board.
"We’ve probably played better at times in games this season and not got the three points.
"Throughout the course of the season you’ll be really good and win games then you’ll have your off days where you maybe just do enough to win and that’s probably what we did today."
