Stones Undone By Crafty Cox's Guiseley

Jay Saunders admitted he would have been delighted with three points against lowly Guiseley, managed by the experienced Paul Cox, but had to settle for one.

Maidstone conceded a late penalty to draw 1-1 with the Lions at home.

Zavon Hines netted his sixth goal of the season after 12 minutes but Euan Mulhern held his nerve in injury time to snatch a point for the away side.

Guiseley are yet to win under Cox but Saunders was still weary of their opposition.

"Whenever you play a Paul Cox side, they're big, they ask a lot of questions of you and we've defended all the set pieces well," he said.

"They turn it into a battle and I don't think some people realise that, it's easy to say get it down and play but they don't allow you to do that.

"The only way they were going to score was from a set piece and that was the case. Unfortunately in a split second we've switched off. I would have been delighted with three points because any against a Paul Cox side are hard earned.

"We haven't had that bit of quality to kill the game off."
