Stones Starting To Become A 'Real Team' Now Says Wheeler

Maidstone United are starting to become what new manager Harry Wheeler believes is the start of a ‘real team’.

The Stones beat Leyton Orient in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round - and Wheeler says it’s the best result he’s earned since taking over.

The 2-0 victory in the all-National League affair was fully justified, he says.

“We got everything right, we left no stone unturned,” said the manager following the Gallagher Stadium success.

“I’m not saying ‘we’ve arrived’ - I’m saying we are starting to become a proper team.

“I think Leyton Orient will win the National League so it’s great for us. The prize money is massive for us.

“It’s a great result, my best since I came to the club I would say,” he added.

“I have no preference about who we draw. I will be listening in on Monday but I don’t want to jinx things!”
