Gibson was installed almost four weeks ago following Matt Taylor’s decision in to swap the Stones for Solihull Moors.
The 45-year-old had taken one point from his first three matches at the helm, all of the fixtures at home.
That left the club in the bottom four but on Saturday things turned after Josh Grant’s winning goal at Yeovil Town.
It was their first victory since before Christmas and now the fixture list looks interesting.
They face fellow strugglers Braintree Town tonight before Ebbsfleet United and then Boston United all in the space of seven days.
Welshman Gibson said after Saturday’s 2-1 win at Huish Park: “It was a fantastic three points, there’s no doubt about that.
“The longer it goes on without you getting your first win, the more pressure builds on the players.
“They needed that result as much as I did! They were excellent to a man, it’s a great victory against a good side.
“This is going to give us a lot of confidence going into the next few weeks, we’ve got some important fixtures coming up.”
