Stones Officially Announce The Signing Of New Striker

Wealdstone have officially announced the signing of prolific striker David Pratt from league rivals Chippenham Town.

Pratt is an experienced, free scoring forward who will be well known to many Stones fans from his time at Bath City where he was constantly amongst the goals scoring 50 times in 125 appearances for the Romans.

The 30-year-old started his senior career at Swindon Supermarine, moving on to Chippenham in 2007, and after spells at Basingstoke Town and Maidenhead returned to Hardenhuish Park last year.

This season Pratt has again been amongst the goals, finding the net 9 times for the Bluebirds whilst last term he scored 22 goals for them in their promotion season, winning their player of the season award.

Stones manager Bobby Wilkinson said: “I am very pleased to have brought in a very talented and experienced centre forward with a goal-scoring pedigree wherever he has played. We said we would bring in such a signing and I believe David is the right guy.”

Pratt is cup-tied for the Buildbase FA Trophy but will be available for the Stones squad for the St Albans City league game at The Vale on Saturday, December 23rd.
