The National League part-timers welcome League One leaders Wycombe on Saturday, with a rare morning kick-off getting a huge second round day off and underway in style.
The Chairboys have won ten games in a row so the odds are firmly stacked against the Stones - but it could be no-win for the midfielder whatever happens!
“My wife’s side of the family are all season ticket holders at Wycombe, so I was buzzing when the draw came out,” he explained.
“It’s also my former club, and I’ve got so many fond memories of my time there.
“Gareth Ainsworth brought me through. They’re the club who have had the biggest influence on my career having been released by Southampton when I was 15.
“They made me into the player I turned out to be, so I’ll always be grateful to them.
“I played with Matt Bloomfield, the club’s manager now, many times. We sat on the same table on the coach to away games. I’m looking forward to pitting my wits against him as well. They’re flying, so it’s a brilliant tie for our club.”
It’s a tall order, but Wealdstone are bang in form themselves.
After a slow start, they’ve turned a corner since late October and are unbeaten in six - defeating Grimsby Town in the FA Cup, Rochdale, Aldershot Town and Braintree along the way.
“We’ve completely transformed how we’re playing and how we’re thinking in the past few weeks and if you’re coming up against a higher level side you need to be playing well,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
