Southern Counties East League Premier Division Crowborough Athletic are groundsharing from next month.
The Crows are converting their Community Stadium pitch to 3G but the project’s start date was delayed and it won’t be ready for the start of the season.
The two clubs have agreed a deal for the 2017/18 campaign but the tenants have the option to give notice and return to their East Sussex venue when work is completed.
Maidstone`s chief executive Bill Williams said: “We are very pleased to be of assistance to Crowborough Athletic while their pitch works are completed.
“They came to visit us when they were considering the move to 3G and we’d kept in touch since.
“There have been times in the not too distant past that clubs have helped us when we’ve needed a home, so we know what it means to help another in a time of need.
“We hope Crowborough’s fans, officials and players enjoy their stay with us, however long that might be.”
During the groundshare, Maidstone United, as the senior club, will have priority on all fixtures. Crowborough will play on alternate Saturdays, with any midweek games scheduled on a Thursday evening.
The arrangement has been approved by the National League and Southern Counties East League.
