Archer is an enthusiastic and respected football man with more than 30 years’ experience at various non-League clubs. He has a deep knowledge of National League football and is comfortable networking and ‘talking football’ at all levels.
He started at grassroots level in Sussex, joining the committee of Spartan South Midlands side Harpenden Town when he relocated to Hertfordshire in 1996. He became Chairman in 2001 a position he held for five seasons.
He moved to St Albans City in 2007 becoming a Director in 2009 and Chairman in 2012. He oversaw a period of success at Clarence Park, including two appearances in the First Round Proper of the FA Cup and promotion from the Southern League to National League South via a memorable play-off final in May 2014.
Archer will officially join Wealdstone today and will support our incoming chairman, with a particular focus on additional marketing and commercial activity. The new chairman will be announced, as previously notified, after 20th July.
In his day job Archer is Managing Partner of Gyoury Self Partnership, structural and civil engineering consultants in the construction industry.
