Leaders Wealdstone are looking to stretch their legs at the top of the National League South on Thursday.
If other results go their way and they win at second place Slough, then the Stones will hold a ten point advantage going into the last game of 2019.
The New Year promises plenty of good things for the north west London club but Brennan knows it’s not just the Boxing Day game at Arbour Park which means so much.
Slough are in fantastic form themselves and a big crowd is expected to see the top-of-the-table game.
Brennan, though, is looking at the bigger picture.
“We’re in a busy period, a period which may well decide how things stand,” he said.
“But it’s never been about one game. The Christmas and New Year matches are important, but I have always felt January is a big month for any club looking to do something.”
Rebels joint managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood feel their side are up there on merit.
They want what is expected to be the biggest home crowd of the season so far to get right behind their side.
“Boxing Day represents one of our biggest challenges to date this season, and in many a year,” Baker said on the club’s website.
“Wealdstone have had a brilliant season to date, and come into the game as firm favourites to win the championship, however a brilliant run of form from ourselves means we enter this game in second place seven points behind them.
“Having not had a competitive game for 19 days we come into the game in pretty good shape.”
