Gainsborough Trinity defender Nathan Stainfield says they need to improve as a unit to stop conceding, writes Tom Feaheny.
Stainfield told the club's website that while from an attacking point of view they are doing well, he and the team know they need to do better defensively.
"You can see we have got some talent we are good at getting forward, we need to defend better not just as a back five unit but as a team.
"Everyone is together no one is pointing fingers at each other, we just have to dig in and defend better it is as simple as that. We know this will need a big effort but the positives are there."
He added: “We’ve got a lot of positives going forwards and we can score goals. At the end of the day that’s actually the hardest part of the game."
Stainfield who joined the club during pre-season played for the first time for the club at the weekend during the defeat against Harrogate Town and he admitted he needs more minutes to get going.
"I felt a little bit rusty, I was lacking minutes, I felt strong first half and to be perfectly honest, I was feeling it late on."
