St Albans Plan Tribute To Tragic Supporter Clive Churchhouse

St Albans City have this afternoon make a further announcement regarding the tragic death of long-time supporter Clive Churchhouse.

Tributes have flooded in following the terrible news at Clarence Park last week.

Saints have confirmed their match on the 2nd of September at home to Gloucester City will be a match of remembrance.

“The club has been in contact with Clive’s family and are liaising with them about arrangements for his funeral,” Vanarama National League South St Albans said in a statement.

“Due to it being a holiday period, it is likely the funeral will be in early September with the proposed date being Tuesday 5th. In anticipation of this, the away fixture to East Thurrock United has been postponed to Tuesday 26th September 2017.

“The club had also originally proposed the Wealdstone fixture to commemorate the life of Clive. However, in consultation with his family, the home fixture on 2nd September 2017 will be used as an opportunity for players and supporters alike to remember Clive and his great contribution to St Albans City FC.

“The Club’s president, Malcolm Macmillan, will open a book of condolence in memory of Clive which will be available at Clarence Park from Monday 31st July 2017 and at all our home fixtures leading up to his funeral for his many friends to record their thoughts and memories.

“St Albans District Council has handed the operation of the stadium back to the club and we can confirm that it will be ready for our first home fixture to Wealdstone on Tuesday 8th August 2017. Kick off 19:45.”
