St Albans City Fan To Be Honoured On Saturday

St Albans City have announced their intentions to remember Clive Churchhouse, the supporter who lost his life at Clarence Park in the close season.

Loyal Clive died at the club prior to the team’s friendly match with Luton Town in July.

A dedicated volunteer, Churchhouse had followed the club with passion for many years and was a popular figure in the football community.

The Saints are to dedicate this weekend's National League South match with Gloucester to the 71-year-old.

In a special move, the club have confirmed the York Road End of the stadium will be renamed The Clive Churchhouse Terrace.

Saints secretary Tom Norman said: "Clive was a big part of the club.

"He had been coming here for 50 or 60 years, he was a volunteer who worked tirelessly for the club and was close to the players, management and board.

"We thought it was only fair to remember him in this way."
