Spitfires' Spirit Is Alive And Kicking: Hill

Richard Hill thinks Eastleigh have one thing they have been lacking for a while and that's genuine character.

The Spitfires have left a ground defeated only once so far in this National League season.

Although the manager argues his side have drawn a few too many he sees giant strides of progress from last season.

Perhaps it wasn't ever in doubt that they would only take a point from Ebbsfleet United at the weekend. As after all, the Kent club have drawn all but one of their 8 games so far.

Hill was happy with the 2-2 draw and Craig McAllister, who again came off the bench to score.

The former Northampton striker said: "We have had to show the right attitude a few times already this season.

"We have a lot of character, I think everyone can see that. It was an even match but to take something from it, well we had to work very hard.

"We have been missing that Eastleigh fighting spirit for a while now but I can tell you these players have it.

"At 2-1 down, we were on the back foot a little so to show that spirit and get a result, you'll take that coming to Ebbsfleet.

"They are a good side who will no doubt go on a winning run before too long."
