The new boss’ second National League victory came at home to FC Halifax.
Although he accepts it was far from convincing, it was enough to take the club out of the bottom four.
Sheridan is already making the Spireites hard to beat and a fourth clean sheet in his five games in all competitions points at real progress.
“It’s a big three points,” he told the club’s website. “Every game we play now is a massive game for us because of the position we are in the league.
“Halifax are a hard team to play against.
“The big thing is it’s taken us out of the bottom four which is a massive plus.”
He added: “I thought the performance was alright, it was edgy.
“I’ve praised the players, but we need to see games out when we get ahead and have that advantage. We need to know a bit more about how to see a game out because we have good experience on the pitch to do that.”
