Gorman had been with Biggleswade following his release from Airdrieonians last season after helping the Scottish side reach the Scottish League One play-offs last season.
The former Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Drogheda United, Bray Wanderers, Maidenhead United and Airdrie player has put pen-to-paper on a deal until the end of the season as manager Alun Armstrong looks to provide competition at the back for Nathan Buddle and Ryan Hutchinson.
Armstrong was delighted to be bringing Gorman in, telling his club`s official website: “I spoke with Joe’s agent and saw him play a few times. Other teams in our league were interested in him so it’s testament to the club that he’s came here.
“He’s left-sided so adds a nice balance to the side; he’s athletic and good on the ball, which is the main thing as that’s how we like to play.”
The 23-year-old former Republic of Ireland Youth international said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed for Blyth Spartans. I can’t wait to get started”.
