We’ve got some huge matches coming up on Saturday and we’ve had a difficult time picking out just three.
All the games have a lot riding on them but here are a trio of matches that are not to be missed this weekend.
Dartford v Havant & Waterlooville
The joint leaders going at it - this is one we just couldn’t ignore. Just two goals now separate these two!
The Darts drew with Concord on Saturday, allowing the Hawks to go joint-top of the league. Tony Burman’s men haven’t been in perfect form, winning two of their last five League games. A win this weekend, however, would be a big statement of intent in a title tussle that looks like it will go down to the wire.
Havant are the form side in the National League South. They haven’t lost in the League since September and have won four of their last five games. Matt Tubbs is now firing and that can only be good news for the Hawks. Their away form has been very good so they will fancy themselves at Princes Park.
Oxford City v Whitehawk
A big game at the other end of the table. A win for Oxford could send them up to mid-table whilst a defeat would have them looking over their shoulders.
Oxford narrowly went down 3-2 at Havant on Saturday, showing they have some fight in them. Before that game, they had only lost once in ten games to help pull themselves up the table. A victory could see them go ten points clear of the relegation zone - a big incentive.
It’s going to take a lot for Whitehawk to perform this great escape but they’ve at least got started. They finally tasted victory for the first time this season at Eastbourne Borough on New Year’s Day and then drew with Bognor Regis Town on Saturday. Victories against the teams down at the wrong end of the table are a must if they are to have any chance.
Truro City v Concord Rangers
Truro will be looking to pick up another three points in their promotion push but face a tough game on Saturday against in-form Concord.
The White Tigers drew at Bath on Saturday after doing the double over struggling Poole Town to ensure they kept in the promotion mix. They’re unbeaten in five National League South fixtures and know they have to keep winning to keep up with their rivals. They would like to improve their home form so this is a good chance to do just that.
Concord are unbeaten in 13 games and it’s only the amount of draws in there that has stopped them from climbing even further up the table. The Beachboys have won four of their last six, however, and were a match for leaders Dartford on Saturday. A dangerous team not to be taken lightly.
