Some Big Late Goals Light Up The Tuesday Night Matches

By Sam Elliott

There may not have been many matches taking place on Tuesday night but in true National League style, there was late drama to be found.

York City grabbed a point at home to Dagenham & Redbridge a few minutes from time.

The Daggers, who were held by rivals Southend United on Saturday, drew first blood when Mo Sagaf struck after 25 minutes.

But like at the weekend, they couldn’t hold on.

York grabbed a point in the closing stages when Sam Saunders, pictured, smashed the ball home for his second goal of the season.

There was one other game and it came in the National League South as managerless St Albans City grabbed an important three points.

The club parted company with Ian Allinson last week and are searching for his replacement.

Joe Neal finally broke Concord Rangers resistance ten minutes from the end to snatch a 1-0 victory.

Ryan Blackman was sent off following a poor challenge on Callyn Adebiyi after half an hour for the visitors, who couldn’t quite hold on.
