So What's In Store This Evening In The National League?

By Sam Elliott

There’s no rest for the wicked as the National League goes up a gear tonight.

Match day four is here already as the action comes thick and fast with all sides returning to duty this evening.

We’ve got some surprise names topping the table early on so we’re about to see who has the staying power.

Solihull Moors head to AFC Fylde looking to make it four wins from four games.

Tim Flowers knows confidence is flowing through his squad as they have picked up where they left off last season.

Nobody expected Gateshead to register a hat-trick of early season wins but Steve Watson’s young team will need to show what they’re all about at a Boreham Wood side still smarting from Saturday’s 3-0 BT Sport defeat at Wrexham.

It’s Salford City vs FC Halifax - and if you had to pick the side who had won every game and the team who had lost twice ten days ago, most people would have been badly wrong.

The Shaymen have been fantastic while Salford know they need to win to get their title challenge back on track.

Chesterfield, also 100 per cent, face their biggest test in a trip to Barrow where their former player Ian Evatt won’t dish out any favours.

Barnet require three points to push themselves up the table but won’t get it all their own way at Harrogate Town.

Wrexham, impressive so far, head to Maidenhead knowing what the power of three points would do to their challenge.

Leyton Orient are edging closer to their first win of the season according to manager Justin Edinburgh.

The unbeaten O’s go to Maidstone United hoping for a change of fortunes but with a boost after striker Macauley Bonne signed a new deal.

Dover Athletic play Havant & Waterlooville with both teams looking for their first win of the new season. Sutton United head to Ebbsfleet.

Bromley must start taking their chances says manager Neil Smith. He’ll be hoping they are sharper in front of goal at Eastleigh.

Braintree Town are “improving” says manager Bradley Quinton, and with Hartlepool United also searching for their first win it’s an important game at Cressing Road.

The same could be said of the match at the EBB Stadium. Aldershot, with no goals to show for their season so far, face Peter Taylor’s Dagenham.
