Simon's Harrogate Are Already Weaving Their Magic

Unbeaten, and apparently totally unfazed. Harrogate Town are one of the stories of the new National League season so far.

Weeks into their first campaign at the top table of Non-League football, it’s like they’ve been here forever.

Six games, 12 points, 12 goals and no sign of a first defeat. Simon Weaver’s team sit third in the table, they’ve enjoyed what’s on the menu in the first month.

Town had to wait until the second-half to show Solihull Moors what they are all about on Saturday but on Monday they’ve be showing many thousands.

“It was a timid start for us, we’re usually out the blocks faster than we were today.

“But once we started to pass the ball and make the pitch bigger, we created the openings.

He added, “You have to stay patient sometimes in games and find that balance [with playing style] but the patience was key.”

Fylde, who look impressive at their new home since they themselves earned promotion in May 2017, give them hope.

Last season they finished in the top seven and while Harrogate won’t state their ambition as loudly as the Coasters you get the impression they are building very well, and could be a side to keep a close eye on.
