Shots Looking To Sharpen Up In Front Of The BT Cameras

Aldershot Town’s players know all too well they’ve not made the start to the season anyone expected.

But two of their key men think tonight could be the night when they put down building blocks for the rest of the campaign.

Gary Waddock’s side reached the play-offs last May but the new season has plenty of ups and down.

Just two wins and five defeats already sees the Shots languishing just one place outside the drop zone. They know they they need a big performance in front of the BT Sport cameras this evening when they make the trip across Hampshire to face Havant & Waterlooville.

“The first few weeks have been tough in the sense that we probably haven’t had the start that we would of liked to but we are a new squad and still settling in as a team,” defender Karleigh Osborne told us.

“We have great bunch of lads and are hungry to keep improving as players and of course to improve the results

“Tonight we need to make sure we concentrate on our game plan, focus on what we need to do as individuals and players in order to win the game and then stop their danger men from performing.”

Fellow defender Lewis Kinsella agrees with the centre-back and says tonight could be when the corner is turned.

“To get going we need to find some consistency we all know how the manager wants us to play we need to believe in it!” he said.

“If we start performing the results will take care of themselves

“I don’t think there is any pressure with the game being on TV. I think we all can’t wait to show everyone how good we are when we are on it. We want to show we play football the right way that’s a joy to watch when we do it right.”
