The Aldershot Town manager watched his side come out on top during a helter-skelter 4-3 thriller with Maidenhead United on Saturday.
It took the club’s goals tally to 15 already - and they are the National League’s leading scorers for August.
That doesn’t mean that the manager wouldn’t prefer a more comfortable afternoon in the dug-out.
The Shots' three home games with the Magpies, Oldham and Forest Green have produced 18 goals and it has left those fans who prefer not to stand at the EBB on the edge of their seats.
Widdrington says great games for the neutrals are hardly doing his ticker the power of good and with an enhanced DAZN game against Rochdale coming up, hopefully the scoring doesn’t stop.
The manager said: “The problem is I have players who just want to score goals!
“As long as we manage to score one more than the opposition, I’ll always be happy. To score four times is fantastic, we’ve given the fans here a lot to cheer about at home already.
“Sometimes it’s not good for your health and I’m not sure my heart can take it at times but it was a great game to watch.”
September starts with a visit from Rochdale before trips to Ebbsfleet United and Boston.
