The Shots went down 2-0 at Moss Rose and Waddock was unhappy with what he saw from his players.
His side slip to 8th in the table while the Silkmen climb to 4th - just one point behind leaders Dover.
Waddock suggested Ryan Lloyd's goal inside the first minute set the tone for an afternoon to forget for the Hampshire club.
"If I am totally honest, Macclesfield deserved the three points," said Waddock after the game.
"If you concede a goal as early as we did you don't expect anything from the game.
"From the moment we conceded the first goal it was an uphill battle for us.
"We didn't perform anywhere near where we should be and I have spoken to the players about that. We didn't find the levels we needed to."
Aldershot hope to bounce back with victory at home to Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday night.
