Sheridan Will Be Backed Well By Hungry Spireites

Chesterfield's chief executive has promised the club will do everything in their power to help the club return to the EFL at the second attempt.

That will be music to the ears of boss John Sheridan who turned the Spireites' season around after replacing Martin Allen.

After completing the permanent signing of Haydn Hollis last week, Graham Bean has promised Sheridan the club will go all out to build a squad that can challenge.

“John is very much his own man and he knows exactly who he wants," Bean told the club's website.

“We do have targets. We will work towards getting the players that he actually wants, as opposed to listening to agents who are throwing a whole host of names at us.

“You have to let the manager identify the players that he wants to build the team in the way that he wants.

“Once he has identified the players, it comes to our side of the table and we’ll look at putting the deals together that will entice the player to come to the club.”
