The Spitfires boss admits he has been pulling plenty of his out after yet another high-scoring game on Saturday.
Fortunately for Hessenthaler and his side, they came out on top in a seven-goal thriller, beating Hartlepool United 4-3.
Chris Zebroski grabbed a hat-trick for the Spitfires and they’ve now won four in a row to move up to 12th. They’ve scored 13 times in those matches but also conceded eight!
Hessenthaler told the club’s YouTube channel: “I’m sure it was entertaining for the fans but for the manager and coaching staff, we were pulling our hair out at times because of the goals we conceded.
“We need to address that but the challenge was to keep the run going and we’ve succeeded in that.
“We’ll keep working and I think the defensive players are disappointed because they want to be keeping clean sheets.
“I’d be worried if we weren’t creating chances but we’re creating chance after chance at the moment and winning games - and that’s key.”
