Second Loan Signing Of The Day For Gloucester

Gloucester City have completed their second loan signing of the day, bringing in goalkeeper Tom Hadler from SkyBet League One side Gillingham until January 2018.

Hadler re-joins the Tigers after first linking up with the side in 2015 on a short loan spell.

The shot-stopper is highly-rated by the backroom team at Gillingham and Gloucester boss Tim Harris said he jumped at the opportunity to bring him in.

“I wasn’t actually looking at bringing in another goalkeeper even though Alex Harris hasn’t settled in as well as we had expected. Sometimes in management you have to make tough decisions and this is one of them.

“I received a call on Tuesday from Glenn Johnson, the goalkeeper coach at Gillingham, saying they were looking to get Tom out on loan. Tom is a very promising professional who will have a big future in the game.

“The opportunity to bring Tom in was just too good to turn down, whilst it’s very hard on Alex Harris and he is hurting at this moment, this will make him stronger.

“I have told Alex I will meet up with him after the weekend to discuss what is best for him going forward. This is a loan until January and it’s important we help Alex and come to a suitable solution if he so wishes.”

Earlier. Gloucester brought in Cheltenham Town winger Adam Page, also on loan until January.
