Saunders: Maidstone Need To Improve In Both Boxes

Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders says his side are losing games by a fine margin.

A 2-1 defeat that included a late goal and a missed penalty summed up another disappointing afternoon for the side, writes Tom Feaheny.

"In both boxes we are simply not good enough, we have conceded goals where we have given them the opportunity," Saunders said.

"We need to stop conceding the goals that we are, we need to see games out whether it is a goal or not.

"At the moment we don't look like we will keep a clean sheet, it is fine margins right now that is the difference.

"We face them (Gateshead) again in under a week, they have been tight matches, the Trophy is a good game for us to try and stop the rot."
