Saunders Believes In-form Maidstone 'Can Get Stronger'

Maidstone United made it three wins a row with one of the results of the day in the Vanarama National League.

Jay Saunders' side won 4-1 at Macclesfield Town to move into seventh place.

Zavon Hines' brace, along with strikes from Alex Wynter and Joe Pigott gave the Stones a fantastic away win.

Maidstone have now lost just once in their last eight and Saunders believes things can get better, he said: "I think after the mid-week win at Eastleigh and then having another long trip today, I don't think many people would have fancied us getting the three points. The boys are in a good place at the moment, there's a good spirit around the place.

"We deserved the win today. We were excellent in the first 15/20 minutes, we spoke in the week about starting quickly and getting at them. It's a really good result for us.

"The squad is in a better place. We've had players missing today and if we had that last season, we probably wouldn't have had people to replace them. It's really good that we've got that depth.

"It's been our luck so far this season that we haven't had everyone fit so I honestly think we can get stronger."
