Saunders Applauds One Of Best Stones Performances

Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders says everything clicked for his side as they beat a team going for promotion.

A 1-0 win with Stuart Lewis grabbing the winner makes it back to back home wins for the side, writes Tom Feaheny.

"I thought it was a very good performance against a side having a good season, I felt we wanted it a bit more and deserved the victory.

"Before the game, I looked at Sutton United who hadn't lost in 2018, I felt that run would end, we had the confidence to know we could do it.

"A player like Stuart Lewis is key for us, he is our captain, he got the goal and impressed me again.

"We played that three at the back and we looked solid against a good side aiming for promotion so that is something we can build on."
