Saturday's Round-Up: The National League South

Harvey Bradbury`s first goal for the Saints broke the deadlock 7 minutes into the second half.

Zane Banton’s deflected effort 8 minutes from time confirmed the victory, although they had to survive a late comeback from their hosts when Khale Da Costa pulled one back in the 88th minute.

Truro City are sixth and now only a point behind visiting Chelmsford City and St Albans after a hard-earned 2-0 victory at a very chilly Treyew Road.

It was Truro who made the brighter start in the opening exchanges and they got their reward in the 7th minute when a powerful free-kick from Ed Palmer flew into the net to open the scoring.

Truro eventually double their advantage in the 72nd minute when Chris Smith was adjudged to have handled inside the area and Connor Riley-Lowe stepped up to slot home from the penalty spot and make it 2-0.

Bath City are now ninth and just two points off a play-off place after recording their biggest away win for almost a year at third-bottom Poole Town.

Bath broke the deadlock in first half injury-time through Sean Rigg.

Andy Watkins swiftly doubled that lead 3 minutes after the restart, before loanees Tom Smith on 68 minutes and Opi Edwards in the last minute rounded out a comprehensive victory.

Freddie Grant wrapped up the visitors` win in the final seconds, and Welling`s day became even worse when they had Godfrey Poku stretchered-off with a nasty-looking injury.

Bognor Regis Town`s plight at the bottom of the table is looking bleak after a 2-0 Nyewood Lane defeat to mid-table East Thurrock United left the Sussex Rocks ten points behind fourth-bottom Concord Rangers.

The Essex Rocks` prolific marksman Sam Higgins bagged another two to win this one – striking in the 6th and then the 90th minutes.

Hungerford Town are also dropping deeper towards trouble after a 4-0 battering at Evesham by twelfth-placed Gloucester City.

It was goalless at the break, but it took the Tigers only 3 minutes of the second half to take the lead through Ed Williams.
