Saturday's National League South Review

By Sam Elliott

The day's big match didn't quite catch fire but the goals certainly arrived everywhere else.

The National League South game of the day came at Dorking Wanderers where Slough Town won an eight-goal triller.

Dan Roberts scored an incredible hat-trick as the Rebels won 5-3 as they moved back up to second.

Weymouth also scores five - they eased past Maidstone 5-1 as the Terras has five different scorers.

The day’s big game didn’t quite live up to its billing as in-form Wealdstone and Dartford drew 0-0 at Princes Park.

Bath City suffered a set-back. They lost 2-0 at Braintree, whose survival hopes were boosted by their excellent win. Jordan Chiedozie and Liam Smyth both scored fantastic goals as the Iron snatched a much-needed win.

Chippenham turned it around in fantastic style by defeating St Albans 2-1 to boost their own survival hopes.

Scott Twine got the winner to keep the Bluebirds’ heads well above water - and the Saints back in the bottom two.

Tonbridge snatched a huge 1-0 win at Dulwich Hamlet as Joey Turner struck late at Champion Hill.

Meanwhile Jack Paxman secured a point for Billericay at Eastbourne Borough.
