Saturday's National League North Review

By Sam Elliott

The new league leaders couldn't stretch their legs at the top but did at least show they have the stomach for a fight.

York City fans won’t know what to make of their 1-1 home draw with Curzon after Jordan Burrow rescued a point deep into stoppage time.

They missed the chance to push clear at the top despite the late point and content manager Steve Watson said: “I need character, I need bottle and I need the ability that they have undoubtedly got to perform on our home stage."

It was one of only four National League North games to survive - Altrincham mean business, as they showed with their 2-0 win at Hereford.

Elliott Durrell scores again as his flying start continues in an Alty shirt.

Elsewhere Spennymoor and AFC Telford played out a 3-3 thriller - Tyler Forbes stunning late leveller gave the ten-man Moors an excellent point.

Play-off rivals Brackley and Darlington drew 1-1 with Quakers boss Alun Armstrong saying his side's display deserved more than a point.

National League North results:
Darlington 1-1 Brackley
Hereford 0-2 Altrincham
Spennymoor 3-3 AFC Telford
