Saturday Preview: National League North

There is a full fixture list taking place in the National League North.

Two of the favourites for promotion face each other in Salford City & York City, these two met up in the FA Cup with Jon Parkin grabbing both goals, writes Tom Feaheny.

Harrogate Town are top of the Vanarama National League North but were knocked out of the cup at home, they find themselves three points clear in first, Leamington have gained four points from games against Salford City and York City and will be aiming for another impressive result.

Brackley Town were knocked out of the FA Cup at the fourth qualifying round after losing to Billericay Town in a replay, Kevin Wilkin's side will be aiming to get back to winning ways but face a real tough test in Blyth Spartans who are just five points off top spot after an impressive run.

Chorley won an enthralling replay against Boston United 4-3, Matt Jansen sees his side in the play-off places in seventh, FC United of Manchester are in the relegation zone after being knocked out of the cup, their previous league result was a 3-3 draw at North Ferriby United.

Curzon Ashton came back from 2-0 down to gain a win last weekend, they take on Boston United who are just outside the relegation zone and were knocked out of the FA Cup after a replay.

Darlington are still on the lookout for a new boss, the side dropped to 12th they face Mark Bower's Bradford Park Avenue who have had a weekend off due to not being in the cup.

Kidderminster Harriers gained their most impressive result and performance as they beat Chester in the FA Cup, Spennymoor Town have started the season well but were disappointed not to win last weekend after being 2-0 up.

North Ferriby United have had a weekend off after gaining a point in their last game, they will look to move off bottom of the table, AFC Telford United will be looking for more consistency in the league but are in the 1st round of the FA Cup.

Nuneaton Town have been boosted with Tommy Wright confirming he is staying at the club, now he will be hoping they can move on, Stockport County saw their unbeaten run in the league at home end last weekend.

Southport see Kevin Davies take his first game in charge, he will be hoping they can get back to winning ways, Gainsborough Trinity have impressed in league and cup away from home now recent weeks and will hope that continues.

And Tamworth take on Alfreton Town with both sides having last weekend off due to not being in cup competition, both are looking up rather than down in table with a win for either meaning they would be well placed.
