Sarll Is All Set For Some Reunions As New Campaign Nears

Darren Sarll could be forgiven for thinking the fixture compiling software used to map out the season has been playing tricks on him.

The Hartlepool United manager pays not one visit to a former club inside the first few weeks, but two.

This weekend his new club travel to Yeovil Town’s Huish Park, where he left in March 2022 after accepting the vacancy at fellow National League club Woking.

Guess where he’s heading on Bank Holiday Monday? The game in Surrey has even attracted the attention of the DAZN cameras.

Sarll says isn’t keen to talk up his return to Somerset but he can’t wait to see some old faces and get the new campaign off and underway this weekend.

He told the club website: "We're going into a campaign now that's 46 games long, it's not going to end at five o'clock next Saturday; it definitely does start at three o'clock next Saturday.

"I think we're all looking forward to it, the players have put in an incredible amount of work, as have the staff.

"It's time to draw back the curtain, the lights to come down and for us to go into proper action.

"I'm really looking forward to it for the obvious reasons of starting the season and going back to one of my former clubs."

Sarll isn’t the only one catching up with old friends on Saturday.

Pools assistant manager Carl Dickinson and new signings Billy Sass-Davies and Adam Smith all played for the Glovers but will be desperate to take three points home on opening weekend.
