Fleet led 1-0 at Chester thanks to Jack Powell's goal but James Akintunde equalised for the home side eight minutes from time.
“Same old, same old,” said the Ebbsfleet boss.
"Today we definitely didn’t do enough to win the game, there’s been games we’ve drawn that I think we’ve played well in and we could have nicked three points but today we didn’t deserve to win the match.
"The same mistakes happened, too regularly for us now, and we need to be a bit more ruthless and a bit more clinical if we want to achieve anything in the division. We see the same thing nearly every week, little errors that we need to get better at.”
On where his side went wrong, McMahon highlighted: “We weren’t good enough with or without the ball.
“It’s very unusual for us to be like that, especially with the ball but even in the last few minutes you’ve had two or three opportunities in and around their box where you expect something to happen.
"We lacked a whole lot of things and individual errors will always cost you points but we lacked quality on the ball which is probably the first time I’ve said this since I’ve been manager of the club.”
