Salford Slip Again And Now ‘Lessons Must Be Learned’

Salford City manager Graham Alexander suggests more respect should have been given to Chesterfield and Dagenham as they slipped to another defeat.

The manager thinks not enough “humility” was shown as City face a test of their title credentials.

Salford now trial leaders Leyton Orient by four points after the Daggers come-from-behind victory.

Two defeats in a row now needs a reaction but their next game is a tough one - away at Wrexham.

“We managed to get the lead and we should have pushed on from it,” he said.

“But instead of doing that we actually took our foot of the pedal a little bit.

“I can’t questions the lads’ desire to get back into the game. We had enough chances to take something from the match.

“But we allowed the opposition to take the lead. Every team is a good as you let them be.

“We have learned a lesson today. Well I hope we have learned a lesson.

“Your focus can slip sometimes, but if you don’t learn from it then it becomes a problem.

“Maybe people have not respected the opposition enough if the last few games, maybe they haven’t shown enough humility.

“It’s a less for us all to learn, and I include myself in that.”
