Salford City's Spirit Pleases Alexander As Their Run Goes On

Graham Alexander was pleased his Salford City side made their chances pay as they closed the gap on Tuesday night.

The Ammies stretched their unbeaten league run to 19 games in midweek with a 3-2 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Harrogate Town.

Rory Gaffney struck the only goal of the second-half to put the game beyond the visitors’ reach and Alexander admitted his delight with the final score.

“It was a real tough game from start to finish,” he told the club’s official website. “It was end to end stuff all the way through the game.

“We went behind twice but I thought we deserved our goals because we attacked really well and created some really good chances, as did they.

“I was delighted not to concede in the second-half and obviously we won the game with the third goal.

“It was real challenge for both teams and you can see they are up at the top end of the table. We’re delighted to take three points.”
