Saints Are Still Sinning By Being Sloppy Says Allinson

Hard to please St Albans boss Ian Allinson watched his side come from behind against Braintree to secure a fourth straight win - and then had a moan at his players!

Allinson is not pleased with the “sloppy” way his team are starting National League South matches.

They aren’t ending them badly. Well-again Sam Merson was at the double as the Saints put pressure on Hampton to secure third place - and one less play-off game to to get through.

The 2-1 win over Braintree means St Albans are coming into form at just the right time - even though their manager isn’t totally happy. Click here for highlights.

“We make life very hard for ourselves,” he told the club’s YouTube channel. “We talk to the players about not giving teams a head-start and we gave them a goal after a minute!

“We are still starting games a bit sloppily and a bit slowly. We’re banging our heads against a brick wall but they need to start taking the information on board a bit better.

“It’s small margins at this time of the season but to our credit we continued going and in the end we got our rewards.”

Allinson added: “The longer the game went on we started to dominate. Sam got us a good goal and his second was even better. He went down with a chest infection for a few weeks, and we have tried to get him back as quickly as we could.

“I think maybe our fitness shone through in the end. It four wins on the spin now but we have still got to improve in different areas.”
