Rowe Wants A Go At The National League With Boston

Boston United’s National League return has been given a shot in the arm just under two weeks before the big kick-off.

The club’s Player of the Year Jai Rowe is sticking around - despite a summer packed full of links to EFL clubs.

The right-back, fantastic as the Pilgrims won promotion via the National League North play-offs, shocked fans by announcing he’ll be staying after all.

He says he won’t be moving because he feels loved at Boston and can’t wait for the new campaign to begin.

“I was never really 100% set in my eyes that I wanted to leave,” the 22-year-old full-back told the BBC.

“When I sat down and really looked at things, there was only really one thing I should have done - maybe I should have done it a few weeks before.

“Ultimately I decided to come back to where people have helped me, and where I feel loved.”

He backed his club to make an impression after winning three away play-off matches to claim their Step 1 place.

Boston start the season on August 10 with a home game against Rochdale before a visit from Forest Green Rovers and a trip to Southend United.
