Danny Rowe scored two superb goals as a AFC Fylde won 3-1 at Stonebridge Road.
His double came in the space of eight second half minutes as the player the Coasters managed to keep hold of this summer stole the show.
Rowe already has seven goals so far this season and McMahon and counterpart Dave Challinor know exactly how good he is.
The Fleet boss said: “We were beaten by Danny Rowe really, he is very good and is everything you want in a striker.
“He’s the best goalscorer in the division and he has punished us.
“They didn’t have too much on our goal but he was the difference. He is deadly but we maybe switched off a little bit at important times.”
Challinor agreed, adding: “Everyone knows how hard Rowey is to play against.
“He took his goals very well but it was a good team performance.
“Ebbsfleet will have a good season so this is a fantastic three points. We worked really hard for them.”
