Rovers' Bromley Win 'Must Be Only The Start'

Micky Mellon is demanding his players use Saturday's late but great victory at Bromley to inspire an almighty season turn around.

Tranmere Rovers grabbed the victory they so desperately needed at Hayes Lane on Saturday.

James Norwood's injury time winner eases the pressure on all at Prenton Park after a low key first two months of the season.

But Mellon now wants something to happen that hasn't since April - the team to go on a winning run.

The manager paid tribute to his players for battling until the final whistle on Saturday but knows it has to be the the beginning of something special.

He said: "We knew we would have to really dig in here and we did. You can't hide that it's a difficult time and we had to put in a shift.

"We did and it was a great win, we kept going and kept going.

"But we really do need to kick on from this. We can't fall into the trap of getting a great win then resting on that.

"We now have a very important game against Leyton Orient on Wednesday night and we need to put everything into that and get another good result."

Mellon added: "It was a great goal to win it - we needed thing to take a turn for the better."
