After providing the first, George Thomson fired home Town's third and final goal of the afternoon in emphatic style from 20 yards.

Ebbsfleet United went down to a 2-1 Stonebridge Road defeat to League One AFC Wimbledon.

Cody McDonald missed the chance to open the scoring 10 minutes into the second half, but his spot-kick was well saved by Nathan Ashmore.

However, the Dons went ahead from the resulting corner through Barry Fuller.

The visitors re-took the lead on 68 minutes, Andy Barcham rifling a fine effort into the top corner.

FC Halifax Town lost 3-0 to neighbours Bradford City in their final game of pre-season, played behind-closed-doors at The Shay.

Omari Patrick put City ahead just after half-time before Ellis Hudson put the result beyond doubt with a late brace.

Macclesfield Town went down to a 2-0 Moss Rose defeat to League One newcomers Blackpool.

Mark Cullen bagged a second half brace for the Seasiders.

National League North newcomers Blyth Spartans were held to a 2-2 draw by Evo-Stik League North new boys South Shields at Croft Park.
A brace from Daniel Maguire gave Spartans a 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.

Shields made no less than eight changes at the break, which invigorated the visitors – as an un-named triallist clawed one back on the hour-mark.
