Rocks Are Rocked Following Some Distressing News

East Thurrock United says their hearts go out to defender Sammy Knott, who is likely to miss most of next season having just sat out the last one.

The Vanarama National League South club have reported that the highly-rated player has suffered a recurrence of a knee injury.

The results of a scan have given the teenager terrible news after making his comeback following nearly 14 months out of action.

A Rocks statement read: "Sadly we have to report that Sammy suffered a further injury to his knee during his comeback game for the club at Maldon & Tiptree last week.

"Scans have indicated that he is likely to face another lengthy spell out of action.

"The talented young defender missed the whole of last season after damaging his cruciate ligament during our play off final win over Dulwich Hamlet in May 2016.

"He then went through surgery and months of rehabilitation and hard work to get back to match fitness.

"We can only imagine how he must be feeling right now. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you Sammy."
