The Bulls' extended their winless run to 14 matches after their 2-2 with Darlington despite Tom Owen-Evans' brace giving them what seemed a comfortable margin.
Speaking to the club's official YouTube service after the game, Richards admitted his frustration.
"The performance was obviously pleasing but it's frustrating being 2-0 up and letting it slip," he said.
"But it's the same mistakes and the same naivety so I'm not going to be happy until we're consistently putting performances and wins together.
"But ultimately, we're not good enough at the moment and we need to sort it out, I'm fully aware of that.
"It's a difficult time and we know there's frustration going on but we know what we're doing and we will sort this out.
"It doesn't change overnight, it's been six weeks since I've come into the role and there's been some positive signs but massive areas of improvement as well.
"We'll keep doing what we're doing and hopefully I can get some reinforcements in because we're not good enough at the moment, simple as that."
