Moors have moved swiftly to replace Liam McDonald, who was relieved of his duties yesterday.
The 61-year-old is no stranger to Non-League football after guiding Luton Town to the 2009-10 play-offs.
In October 2012, he took over as manager at Cambridge United. The following season they won promotion through the play-offs and also lifted the FA Trophy.
Most recently he has been academy director at Norwich City.
Mark Fogarty, Solihull's director of football, who worked with Money at Coventry City, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have attracted manager with the record and profile of Richard Money. He is exactly what we need right now at Moors and having worked with him, I can vouch for his formidable skills as a coach. I really look forward to teaming up with him again.
“There is ambition and potential at Solihull Moors but my first job is to focus on accumulating points. It is about winning the “next game” and that will give hope to the players, the fans and the Board.
"I am not a magician and I know we will lose some matches as we move forward. I want to build confidence and we will then see where it takes us.
"I am delighted to be at Solihull Moors; since my days at Walsall I have lived in Sutton Coldfield, and this appointment allows me to balance my home life whilst I relish the challenge at the football club.”
