Redmond Ready To Follow His Father’s Path

Devonte Redmond is aiming to follow in the footsteps of his father and become a Wrexham promotion winner.

He dad Paul Edwards took the team up from the Third Division in 2003.

Redmond used to watch him in action at the Racecourse and has now signed a two-year deal.

He rejected the chance to stay at Salford City and is added to the Red Dragons forward-line.

“I used to watch my dad out there on the Racecourse pitch so it’s a strange feeling in a way,” he told the club’s website.

“It’s like it is written for me to come here and hopefully follow in my dad’s footsteps and achieve something big at Wrexham.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done. Wrexham are club I have always followed due to the family ties I have here and I just can’t wait to get going.

“This is a massive club that has aspirations to play in the football league, minimum.

“The manager drew me closer to signing the deal because he is going to trust in me and I hope to add that bit of creativity he needs.”
