The Heed are now unbeaten in 11 matches and secured arguably the result of the season so far on Tuesday.
They not only won at Boston United but their 3-0 victory over a side who had won their previous six raised many eyebrows.
Midfielder Nicky Deverdics has spoken to the club’s official website and says the team’s belief is only getting stronger.
Gateshead play promotion rivals Chester this weekend and the 32-year-old thinks the team couldn’t have picked a better time to hit their stride.
“I think from minute one it was a brilliant team performance,” Deverdics, who got his third goal of the season at York Street, said to the club’s media team.
“We knew we were going to have to win the battle and then play when we could - to a man we were brilliant at Boston.
“Confidence is going to be high for Saturday now against Chester.
“The lads are buzzing, we’re flying. Everyone is playing really well and confidence is high so we’ve got to go into games expecting to win them, especially at this stage of the season.”
After their trip to Chester, Gateshead face a big home game against title-chasing King’s Lynn Town. Heed have won six of their last eight matches at the International Stadium.
