Rain Causes Pitch Problems This Morning

By Sam Elliott

The rain has already claimed a number of victims this morning with matches off across the National League.

Poor weather, especially in the north, has seen inspections carried out in the early hours.

Three matches in the National League North didn’t make it with waterlogged pitches to blame for postponements.

There won’t be any action forBradford Park Avenue, who were due to travel to leaders Salford City.

The rain must have been heavy - Curzon Ashton’s excellent pitch isn’t fit for football today and their game with Gainsborough Trinity must be re-arranged.

It’s the same on Merseyside, and there won’t be a game at Southport, whose big game with AFC Telford United won’t be played this afternoon.

When new dates are found for the games, we will update supporters accordingly.
